Do ROTC students go through basic training?

Cadets who earn a four-year scholarship before entering college AND those who join ROTC as a sophomore or junior will attend the ROTC Basic Course. It is a watered-down version of basic training that is only four weeks long. All cadets who will attend the ROTC Advanced Course during the summer after their junior year.

Do Jrotc cadets outrank enlisted?

Yes, specifically cadets enrolled in “advanced senior ROTC” programs as well as cadets (and midshipmen) at the several federal service academies. As “officers in a limited sense” and having been appointed to their grade of rank by the President, they outrank ALL enlisted personnel.

Do ROTC cadets go through boot camp?

You will not be sent to boot camp. However, the primary purpose of the Army ROTC program is to produce its Officers, so you must agree to serve as Officers in the Army after graduation in order to go through the entire program, or if you have received an ROTC scholarship.

When do you go to advanced ROTC camp?

ROTC Cadets undergo training between their 3rd and 4th years of college. It is a six week Advanced Camp. This is for cadets who have enrolled in ROTC their freshman year.

That’s only for USMA, or the other service academies, otherwise known as Beast. Army Early Commission!!! Generally speaking the 4 years of ROTC is the basic training for that program.
