What rank do you have to be to be a Ranger?

In order to join the Ranger Regiment, you must: Have a General Technical (GT) Score of 105 or higher. You must qualify and volunteer for Airborne training.

Do officers go through RASP 1?

RASP 1 is for pay grades E-1 to E-5, while Soldiers E-6 and above – including officers – go through RASP 2. Fish, who was already in the Army, started at RASP 1 and SURT but had to go to Ranger School before joining the regiment. All Infantry sergeants seeking an assignment at the 75th must be Ranger School graduates.

Possess U.S.

  • Volunteer for assignment and be on active duty
  • Have a General Technical Score of 105 or higher
  • Pass physical requirements,including the Ranger
  • Fitness Test (58 push-ups,69 sit-ups,five mile run in 40 minutes or less,six pull-ups),the Water Survival Assessment,and a 12-mile march with a 35-pound rucksack and weapon
  • The 75th Ranger Regiment is the US Army’s most elite infantry unit. They specialize in direct action special operations mostly using conventional infantry tactics. Oftentimes they’re used to give infantry support to other special operations units, as seen in Blackhawk Down .

    How long is Ranger training in the Army?

    The Army Indoctrination program, which is also known as Ranger Regiment, begins immediately after graduating from Army Airborne School , and consists of four weeks of rigorous physical and academic training. Physical training includes among other things, the five mile run, road marches, rope training and a water survival test.
