Because you realize that you and your life need to change, which feels like more work piled on your plate. Because you are admitting your own responsibility for your unhappiness and that can trigger self-judgment.

1. When you do feel happy, you also feel anxious that it won’t last. Happiness is so unfamiliar to some that they don’t trust it. If, when you begin to feel happy, you also feel anxious that something bad is just around the corner, then at some level you believe happiness cannot last, or that it makes you vulnerable.
Should you stop drinking alcohol on weekends?
If you’re unable to manage your alcohol consumption on weekends, sometimes the best option is to stop drinking altogether. Taking a break from alcohol — even temporarily — can give you clarity and focus.
Are you jealous of people who look happier than you?
Sure, you’re still doing what everybody asks of you, but you stew in anger the whole time. You are jealous of and bitter toward people who look happier than you feel.
