Corn and soy are high in omega-6 fatty acids, essential fats also needed for health. Some research shows that organic milk also has a more favourable balance of the two fatty acids than conventional milk. Milk from grass-fed cows also has five times more conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) than conventional milk.

The added nutrients cows get from eating an organic all-grass diet definitely makes a difference in the milk they produce. In fact, a recent study from Food Science and Nutrition found that the milk from grass-fed cows contained 147\% more omega-3s than conventional milk and 52\% more omega-3s than organic milk.

Why does grass fed milk taste different?

7. Grass-fed milk tastes better. The more grass in a cow’s diet, the more flavor and creaminess you’ll be able to taste in the milk. You can taste it more in 100\% grass-fed dairy like our Grassmilk®, and even more so in cultured product like our Grassmilk® cheese, which further concentrate those unique flavors.

Why should I drink organic milk?

4. 100\% grass-fed dairy means exactly what it says: milk from cows that eat grass and only grass. No corn, no soy, and no other grains, ever. The cows may receive nutritional supplements if needed, like molasses and minerals, but it’s a very small amount — similar to a human taking a daily vitamin.

Does grass fed milk make you fat?

Grass-fed milk is also higher in nutrients like vitamin E, iron, and conjugated linoleic acid, a fatty acid that may play a role in preventing heart disease and obesity. But, like omega 3s, it’s not in amounts that are likely to make a huge dent in your dietary needs (or the needs of your kiddos).

The super short answer is that meat from cows that graze freely on grass for their entire lives is the best for your health, thanks to a healthier fat profile and more antioxidants . Most (not all) grass-fed beef is also organic, which is even better, since you know the cattle are eating pure, pesticide-free grass.

Does organic milk taste better than regular milk?

In Summary: There is not a huge taste difference between organic milk compared to regular milk — though there was a slight preference toward organic.
