What is a respectable amount to bench?
For example, the average man, in ordinary circumstances, should be able to bench press 90\% of his body weight. If you’re relatively fit and already going to the gym, then 1 x your bodyweight should be a good standard.
Is it normal to bench as much as you squat?
It is considered respectable for men to squat 250\% and bench 160\% of their body weight; and for women to squat 200\% and bench 120\% of their body weight. Therefore, an ideal squat to bench press ratio is 156\% for men and 167\% for women.
How long does it take to bench from 315 to 405?
You can gain about a rep a month if you’re very consistent and dedicated. To do 405, or have a shot at it, you will have to do 315 at least 8. Eight reps will put you very close, at a minimum of 395, and with a perfect lift 400–405. I say from experience.
