What is the displacement of the body if it returns to the same point from where it started give one example from daily life?

zero
Given on example from daily life. When a body returns to same point where it is started, then the displacement is zero. Ex : A man starts from his home, goes to a market and returns home. Then his displacement is zero.

What is total displacement of an object if it travels from A to B and then return from B to A?

The total displacement of the car is 0 as the car goes from A to B and again from B to A. Here distance remains the same while time changes. The magnitude of distance and displacement will be same if the car travels in a straight path with uniform motion.

What is displacement formula?

Displacement = Final position – initial position = change in position.

How do you calculate displacement?

The average velocity of the object is multiplied by the time traveled to find the displacement. The equation x = ½( v + u)t can be manipulated, as shown below, to find any one of the four values if the other three are known.

What is the total displacement of your travel?

The displacement is simply the difference in the position of the two marks and is independent of the path taken when traveling between the two marks. The distance traveled, however, is the total length of the path taken between the two marks.

How do you find total displacement?

  1. If an object is moving with constant velocity, then.
  2. Displacement = velocity x time.
  3. If an object is moving with constant acceleration then the equation of third law of motion used to find displacement:
  4. S = ut + ½ at²
  5. S = v2−u22a.
  6. If v = final velocity,
  7. u = Initial velocity.
  8. s = displacement.

What happens if a body starts from a point a and returns?

If a body starts from a point A and again comes back to point A thn indeed the displacement will be 0. This is because displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and final positions of an object .

What is the definition of displacement?

2. Physical quantity obtained by dividing displacement with time taken 3. A quantity having both magnitude and direction 4. This remains constant in uniform circular motion 6. It is the slope of speed -time graph

What is the difference between distance covered and displacement?

Distance covered and Displacement is the two different things. Let’s say a person want to travel from point A to point B . He can take two paths i.e. path 1 & path 2 . Suppose if he takes path 1 then he have to cover 2 km and if he takes path 2 he has to cover 4 km.

Why is the displacement of an object is zero?

This is because displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and final positions of an object . Now if the object starts from a point and again returns back to the same then their initial and final positions are also the same and hence the distance between them is 0, hence making the displacement 0.
