Who founded Vijayawada?

The first factory in this city was built by the British East India company during the 17th Century and it was named as Bezawadaapatnam. Then, the factory was occupied by the Mughal King, Aurangazeb. Finally, in the year 1735, the Dutch Colony was established in this region.
