Can you take Algebra 2 and Precalc together?
If you’re good with Trig, I would say you’re in good shape to take PreCalc. And just wanted to let you know, my Algebra 2 class was very similar to my Statistics class. I was able to teach myself Algebra II and Precalc solely through Khan Academy, so it’s definitely possible.
Can I double up Algebra 2 and Precalc?
Students can move into honors and college prep classes in tenth and eleventh grade by meeting the prerequisite grade or having a teacher recommendation. Honors Geometry is a semester. Algebra II is a semester. Students who have completed algebra II can double up in geometry and honors precalculus.
Do you take Precalc after Algebra 2?
If your math skills are good then there is no need to take precalculus. That said, if you don’t feel confident in ypur algebra skills you should take it to improve on your fundamentals. Or, if you feel your algebra II class was really subpar.
Can I skip algebra 2 and take pre calc?
If you have to take calculus classes later, then you will need pre-calculus to understand calculus. In the same way, if you have to take pre-calculus later, then you will need algebra 2. If the last math you have to take for your degree is pre-calculus, you can skip algebra 2.
How hard is Algebra 2 in Pre-Cal?
There are parts of Pre-Cal where Algebra II really is a prerequisite. If you’re the type of student who can learn the concept, plus the concept you were supposed to already know, then it should be no sweat. It will be harder than say, doubling up on a science, but not undoable.
What is the difference between Algebra 1 and Algebra 2?
The primary focus of Algebra 1 is solving equations. The only functions you’ll look at extensively are linear and quadratic. You’ll learn their basic properties, how to find their roots, how to graph them, how to convert them between different “forms,” and how to find their inverses. Algebra 2 is much more advanced.
Do you have to study exponential equations in Algebra?
As soon as you study limits, you’re studying Calculus. but topics like exponential functions and Trig almost never are included in Algebra. not that you won’t see exponential equations in algebra, but topics like growth and decay functions and probably inverse functions and/or logarithms. Is there a Pre-Calc class that covers point-based continuity?
Pre-Calc is more or less a combination of functions and trigonometry. I have never heard of a Pre-Calc class that covered limits and/or rigorous point-based continuity.
