Does IB actually check CAS?

Studied throughout the Diploma Programme, CAS involves students in a range of activities alongside their academic studies. It is not formally assessed. Educators at IB World Schools can read about the seven learning outcomes in the CAS guide, which is available in the IB store and the Programme Resource Centre (PRC).

Do you fail IB if you fail CAS?

CAS is internally assessed. A failure to complete and provide evidence for completion is considered a failing condition for the entire Diploma (although candidates are given another year to finish their CAS program if they fail, and if they complete it in this time they will receive their diploma.

What is a CAS project IB?

A CAS project is a collaborative, well-considered series of sequential CAS experiences, engaging students in one or more of the CAS strands of creativity, activity, and service. A CAS project involves collaboration between a group of students or with members of the wider community.

What are CAS hours for IB?

IB Diploma candidates are required to complete 150 CAS hours. These hours must be distributed in each of the three areas below. Projects may include two to three aspects and these projects are the most beneficial to students. The 150 hours are completed during the two years in the program, 11th and 12th grade.

What does CAS IB require?

IB Diploma Program Guidelines for Juniors and Seniors Students must earn 150 CAS hours (including a CAS project) completed as follows: 75 service hours. 25 creative hours. 25 action hours.

How do I pass CAS IB?

CAS coordinators have the power to pass you for CAS or not which will affect your diploma/course. -You have to complete at least 50 hours for each strand (Creativity, Activity, and Service) for the year. Don’t do 100 hours for each strand so you don’t have to do it in IB2. You’ll still be forced to do it in IB2.

How do you write CAS reflection in IB?

Summarize your activity/project, answering who, what, when, where and why. (a) What roles/tasks did you perform? (b) How does the activity reflect Creativity, Action, or Service? (c) How did you interact with others? (d) If your activity involved no interaction, explain why it needed to be a solitary activity.
