Is ICAR accreditation necessary?

ICAR accreditation is very important if you want to become assistant professor or scientist through ASRB. No it is not advisable to do BSc Agriculture from a college that is not recognised by ICAR. It is also good but ICAR is better than it.

Is it good to do BSc Agriculture from private college?

Yes it is viable to pursue a B.Sc. agriculture course in a private college and have a good career ahead. Check whether the private college is recognized by UGC or not. The B.Sc agriculture has equal importance whether you done from government college or from private college.

Is ICAR and BSc Agriculture Same?

The Answer to this is NO. There is a lot of confusion among students regarding ICAR. So, first of all it is important to know about ICAR. Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is an autonomous body responsible for co-ordinating agricultural education and research in India.

Yes, your degree is definitely valid, it’s not invalid degree if it’s not approved by ICAR and there any many rumours going on. Many students will be passing out every year from your college and where would’ve they been if it’s an invalid degree.

What can I do after BSc agriculture?

You can do many things after completing B.Sc. Agriculture in India. Options start with higher studies options of Masters in Agricultural Sciences, Masters in Science, MBA/PGDM, and even get scholarships. Competitive exams such as UPSC, FCI, and other government jobs abound after BSc in Agriculture.

What is difference between ICAR and non ICAR?

Doing B.Sc from an ICAR recognized university will fetch you the minimum eligibility for getting Agricultural Officer position in Government Departments (State and Central). Doing B.Sc from a Non-ICAR recognized university is considered when you want to go outside the country for studying masters or doing work.

What is ICAR accreditation?

Accreditation. ICAR provides accreditation to agriculture universities, colleges and programmes, through its accreditation unit, National Agricultural Education Accreditation Board (NAEAB). The accreditation serves only as a badge of quality assurance.

And moreover non I car students we’re are not eligible for government jobs like agriculture officer (AO). Government clearly mentioned it need ICAR.Though non ICAR students may get private jobs but it’s better to do agriculture in ICAR approved college.

Non ICAR recognised institutions charge unduly hefty fee from students do not provide facilities and educational experience accordingly.Moreover only students who have completed their graduation through ICAR accredited institutions are eligible for higher studies in state institutions and for state government jobs.

What should I do if I don’t get an ICAR College?
