Who is eligible to participate in the ICPC World Finals?
An eligible student must be willing and able to compete in the ICPC World Finals. In particular, a student who requires a visa to study at the team’s institution must be able to gain a visa to travel to the ICPC World Finals plus be able to return to the institution’s location after the Finals.
How are ICPC Regional contests organized?
All ICPC Regional Contests are organized by the ICPC Policies and Procedures. Each Regional Contest Director (RCD) is charged with executing specific regional contests by these ICPC Regional Rules, the ICPC Policies & Procedures, and ICPC guidelines.
What are the grounds for disqualification in ICPC?
Incomplete registration or circumvention that leads to incomplete or false data is grounds for immediate disqualification. The ICPC, the “International Collegiate Programming Contest”, is an extra-curricular, competitive programming sport of the universities of the world.
What is the role of the ICPC Executive Committee?
The Executive Committee, chaired by the Executive Director, sets the policy and general rules for the conduct of the contest. The Executive Director is solely responsible for interpreting the rules and for ruling on unforeseen situations. The ICPC is affiliated with the ICPC Foundation.
What is a qualifying contest?
A qualifying contest is one that allows teams to be promoted to a higher level and which is supervised by faculty. An online contest which is unsupervised may not be classified as a qualifying contest. Registration may not be done retrospectively.
What is the role of the ICPC Executive Director?
The ICPC Executive Director is an officer of the ICPC Foundation which is responsible for sponsorship, fundraising, host agreements, alumni outreach, and operational matters in compliance with the ICPC Policies and Procedures within the Constitution and By-Laws of the ICPC Foundation.
