How do you qualify for USACO gold?
USACO 2020 US Open Contest, Silver All competitors who scored 750 or higher on this contest are automatically promoted to the gold division.
How do you qualify for IOI USACO?
To be eligible for selection as a USACO finalist and ultimately as an IOI team member, you must be enrolled in a high school (or junior high/middle school) for at least one semester in the school year before the IOI. You can concurrently take courses at other institutions, including colleges and universities.

How long does it take to get USACO bronze?
We are now taking USACO Bronze students (we are taking all Bronze through Platinums students), but you do need to know how to code. Both the student and the parent should attend this call. Note that the required time commitment is 10-15 hours a week for the duration of the course (10-16 weeks depending on the course).
How do you get promoted on USACO?
If you achieve a perfect score during a contest, you qualify for an “in contest” promotion; otherwise, promotions will be granted after a contest ends to all participants with scores above the promotion threshold for that contest.
Is USACO Open harder?
USACO contests are becoming harder over time. We are solving IOI ’94, IOI ’96 questions as examples in our USACO Gold Curriculum not even Platinum. You do not see simple floodfill problems in Silver level anymore as it was common between 2005-2011. Now more complex applications of floodfill are asked.
How long does it take to study for USACO?
Emphasis is placed on the algorithms, data structures, and problem solving skills required at that level. We teach using a lot of practice problems from past contests and the USACO training portal. It typically takes at least 1 year to prepare for each level.
How do I submit to USACO solutions?
When you are on the page of a USACO problem, there’s a pull down menu at the bottom of the problem description for the language of your solution and a second button where you click to upload your source file. After you do that, just it the “Submit Solution” button.

Can I take the AMC 10 and 12 on the same date?
Students can take both an A and a B exam, but not both the AMC 10 and 12 on the same date. Each test has 25 multiple choice questions with a time limit of 75 minutes. Each question is worth 6 points. 0 points are given for wrong answers, but 1.5 points are given for each question left blank/unanswered.

The MAA recommends 9th and 10th graders take the AMC 10, and 11th and 12th graders take the AMC 12. You can take the AMC 10 and/or 12 multiple times. The AMC 10 and AMC 12 each have 25 questions.
