What is RTO AMVI?

Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector (AMVI) or the RTO Inspector is selected through the examination conducted by Maharashtra service public commission (MPSC).

Yes assistant motor vehicle inspector ( AMVI) works under Regional transport officer ( RTO ), but it is not necessary that one must be AMVI before promoted to RTO, bcoz various state public services conducts seperate exam for RTO officer.

Regional Transport Officer is head of the regional transport office and Motor Vehicle Inspector works under him. Motor Vehicle Inspector’s duties are conducting LL and DL test, inspect the vehicle and issue Fitness Certificate.
