Is PE a good subject to take GCSE?
A good GCSE PE grade shows that you possess a mixture of practical and academic skills. GCSE PE leads specifically to further study of Physical Education at AS and A2 and beyond to degrees in areas such as Physical Education; Sports Sciences; Sport and Exercise Sciences; Sports Psychology and many, many more!
Is GCSE PE difficult?
SOME GCSEs are easier than others, despite official claims that each subject is equally difficult, a study has concluded. Drama was the easiest GCSE to do well in, followed by PE/sport, media studies, English, sociology, English literature, business studies and religious studies.

Do you have to do sport outside of school for GCSE PE?
Both courses have an element of practical sport. For GCSE PE students are expected to be playing and competing in sport outside of school and will be assessed in their 30\% either by video footage filmed in their own time or on a live moderation day competing in front of an examiner and moderator.

The PE GCSE is 60\% practical achievement and 40\% theory (final exam). The scientific side of the theory is pretty hard core!
What’s the difference between PE and drama GCSEs?
PE practical days are almost military in their operation and students are moderated by an external assessor. Often groups of schools group together to allow for a broad range of sports to be taken as their ‘exam’ sport. PE GCSE is recognised as a serious discipline, much more so, I would say, than Drama. Is the theory PE easy to learn?
The theory pe is easy to learn, then you just have to remember it. You don’t have to be particularly sporty to take it as you can find a sport that you like during practical lessons and build that up. Rep:? You get these gems as you gain rep from other members for making good contributions and giving helpful advice.
Does PE count as a positive grade?
The way I see it is that a good grade counts as a positive – people tend to tot up As and A*s (or whatever) and a PE grade will enhance that tally, but if you get a low grade people will tend to ignore it since it’s ‘only’ PE, so it has the potential to enhance a set of grades, but not so much to marr it.
