Asia is probably the biggest hotbed of annexations; aside from Russian and Chinese expansion, Turkey also conquered all of its own territory in the Middle Ages, Israel has gone through several rounds of annexations in its short existence, and there’s bound to be a lot more I’m not aware of. But Europe is also shaped mainly through annexations.
