No…a Neanderthal was ~ 5 – 5.5′ tall, and robustly built, at about 170 pounds, but a gorilla might be ~ the same height, but MORE robustly built at ~ 350 pounds. Neanderthals were strong in proportion to their body size. However they were as strong as us in absolute terms. Not more.
