Reasons Why Project Ara Failed As is the case with most out-of-the-box ideas that have the potential to change the industry, the project faced a lot of opposition. Most big mobile companies did not support the idea and did everything in their power to restrict Project Ara from being released.

It was all going well that Google even performed a consumer launch of the Project Ara set in 2017. But unfortunately, Google confirmed on September 2, 2016, that they are shelving out the project to concentrate on their other hardware projects.

It was designed to be utilized by “6 billion people”: 1 billion current smartphone users, and 5 billion feature phone user. Project Ara is intended to revolutionize the mobile phone industry for good. So, instead of having to wait in line to get your hands on another mobile phone, you can just upgrade the part you need effortlessly.
Why is the ARA 2 still being delayed?
The reason for the change in location isn’t exactly clear, but the delay is said to have been caused by the development of “lots of iterations” of the device, and is probably because Project Ara has now abandoned the electromagnetic design of its modules.
What happened to Google’s Project Ara?

Project Ara only made a short cameo during Google’s Advanced Technologies and Projects (ATAP) group session at I/O 2015, but boy, what an impression it made. The last time we saw an Ara prototype was at Mobile World Congress (see below) but it didn’t work.
