Why does Iron Man never use his Unibeam?

Tony designed the Unibeam while refining his Iron Man armor. Tony uses it to rescue a family while battling Iron Monger, though it only knocks Iron Monger out of the fight for a moment. The Unibeam is not used again during that fight due to the immense drain it caused on the already power-depleted suit.

What is Tony’s nanotech suit made of?

The Armor’s composition consists Gold-Titanium nanoparticles. The entire armor is stored within a new removable Arc Reactor which also serves as a storing unit for the Nanoparticles (mentioned by Stark himself), and can be deployed when needed.

In case of failure or malfunction, a small EMP or an MRI could be used to deactivate the nanobots. Both techniques induce an electromagnetic field, corrupting the memory and shorting out the circuitry of any electronic device within range.
