Asr prayer ends at sunset, when Maghrib prayer begins. Shia Muslims are allowed to perform Zuhr and Asr prayers one after another, so they may perform the Asr prayer before the actual period begins.

Is ASR prayed silently?

I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. Reciting Soorah al-Faatihah is an integral part of the prayer so it should be recited in every Rak’ah. Reciting some other verses of the Quran after al-Faatihah is also recommended in the first two Rak’ahs of a prayer.

How many verses are there in ‘Asr prayer?

In the first two Rak’ahs of ‘Asr Prayer, he used to recite half of the verses he used to recite in Thuhr, that means fifteen verses. And he used to recite in the last two Rak’ahs of ‘Asr equal to half the verses he had recited in the first two Rak’ahs of that Prayer.

Thus: Isha has 4 rakaat, 2 recited aloud, 2 silently. And, as far as I know, the above is necessary. Perhaps is more due to the fact I don’t know all the various Arabic terms used extensively here as yet, but a few I am picking up as I go. Either way what I posted is what I do for my prayers. What is the difference between Asr ASR Maghrib and Isha?

Zuhr: Just after noon (when the sun has passed the median point in the sky). Asr: Halfway between noon and sunset. Maghrib: Just after sunset. Isha: Dark night (approximately an hour and a half after sunset up to Fajr prayer). The first two rakats of the Fajr, Maghrib and the Isha prayers are spoken aloud.
