Can a military ATC become a civilian ATC?

If a Military Air Traffic Controller is looking to be hired as a civilian air traffic controller because they were discharged from the military due to being 31 years or older; they can apply to be a civilian air traffic controller even though they are 31 years are older, because of FAA’s Phoenix 20 program.

Is there a demand for ATC?

Employment of air traffic controllers is projected to grow 4 percent from 2020 to 2030, slower than the average for all occupations. Most of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire.

An alternate step would be to find a local aviation club at a small airstrip and call the front office there.
