Is it worth water cooling a 1080ti?

Dont bother with watercooling on it. You realistically are not thermally limited with modern cards, and you would never get your moneys worth out of it. Invest it in a new monitor, SSD, or whatever (or save it).

What is the max temp for a 1080 TI?

84C
While NVIDIA doesn’t publish this information directly, the GTX 1080 Ti’s preset thermal throttle point is 84C, which is a degree or two higher than on NVIDIA’s previous cards. As a result, the card reaches equilibrium at a slightly higher temperature than NVIDIA’s other cards.

Are water cooled GPUs quieter?

Liquid cooling, especially when using an All-in-One (AIO), tends to be quieter than the fan on a CPU heatsink. Again, this can vary, in that there are air coolers with fans specifically designed to reduce noise, and fan settings or fan selection can impact the amount of noise generated.

How hot can a 1080 get?

It doesn’t take long for the card to hit its temperature target and hover around 83 to 84 degrees Celsius. That number rises to 85 degrees during the stress test.

Is 80c OK for 1080Ti?

It is however a completely safe operating temperature. You can adjust its fan curve with MSI AB.

What happened to the Founders Edition of the GTX 1080 Ti?

Our launch coverage showed that Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition is held back by its stock cooler. So, we replaced the vapor chamber and centrifugal fan with a custom water-cooling loop.

How hot does the GTX 1080 Ti get?

The results are great: even with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition running at its peak overclock, the GPU’s temperature never exceeds 44°C. Our thermal readings, which come from Optris’ PI640 infrared camera, document the solid copper block’s enormous cooling performance.

Will a Titan X (Pascal) cooler work on a GTX 1080 Ti?

We snatched up a Titan X (Pascal)-compatible full copper block before it went out of stock, and installed it on our GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. The idea was to exceed that 2 GHz GPU frequency Jen-Hsun bragged about during his GDC unveiling, which we were unable to sustain using the stock cooler.
