The ADOS-2 is a semi-structured, standardized assessment instrument that includes many play-based activities designed to obtain information in the areas of communication, reciprocal social interactions, and restricted and repetitive behaviors associated with a diagnosis of ASD.

How reliable is ADOS-2?

The A.D.O.S. -2 has demonstrated very high inter-rater reliability, exceeding 84\%. This means that if two or more trained testers observing the same child are scoring independently they will reach the same conclusions more than 84\% of the time.

Who should administer the ADOS?

Training and practice in administering the activities, scoring, and observation is required. The ADOS should be administered by an experienced clinician with appropriate training who can use both quantitative and qualitative information to form a clinical impression from the standard activities. 4.
