What happened to Imam Mahdi?
For Twelvers, the Mahdi was born but disappeared, and would remain hidden from humanity until he reappears to bring justice to the world, a doctrine known as the Occultation. For them, this Imam in occultation is Hujjat-Allah al-Mahdi, the Twelfth Imam.
