How do you choose keywords in the app store?

Here are some tricks I’ve learned over the past years to get the most out of your App Name and Keywords fields.

  1. Don’t use spaces, use commas.
  2. Cut connector and stop words.
  3. Don’t use names for numbers, use digits.
  4. Don’t repeat keywords.
  5. Consider using plurals and typos for languages other than English.

How do you use keywords in app?

Start by populating the App Name first. Keywords in the App Name have the strongest ranking weight, so put your priority keywords here. You can also place the keywords with higher search volume and difficulty in your App Name to boost your chances of ranking for them.

Indeed, Apple allows app developers and marketers to use an additional short phrase under their app name which can be seen as a complement of the app name in terms of marketing message but also in terms of keywords.
