Why is it called XUV500?

According to Mahindra, the name XUV 500 has a meaning; the double O denotes added ‘oomph’, while XUV 500 is an abbreviation for a Crossover Utility Vehicle. It’s targeted at “Generation X” according to the company.

Is XUV500 discontinued?

Mahindra has discontinued its popular XUV500 after the launch of the latest XUV700 in the country. Mahindra dealers have also stopped accepting bookings for the XUV500, although the SUV remains listed on the official website.
