As nouns the difference between officer and cadet is that officer is (senseid)one who has a position of authority in a hierarchical organization, especially in military, police or government organizations while cadet is a student at a military school who is training to be an officer.

Are cadets considered officers?

A cadet is an officer trainee or candidate. The term is frequently used to refer to those training to become an officer in the military, often a person who is a junior trainee.

Army Regulation AR 600–20 Tables 1 and 2 clearly indicate that cadets (and midshipmen) rank immediately below warrant officers (W-1) and above ALL enlisted grades of rank. Table 2 also provides equivalency of rank for cadets and midshipmen of the other services.

When on campus and in uniform, cadets will salute all cadet officers and cadre officers of all services. It is appropriate to accompany the salute with a word of greeting, for example, “Good morning, sir.”.

What is a typical day in Ota for a cadet?

A day in OTA for a cadet begins at early morning 0530 hrs, when s/he has to attend the morning muster parade for ten minutes, followed by Physical and drill training for forty mins each that goes on till 0700 hrs. 0700-0800 is reserved for the breakfast break, provided you are not caught at wrong foot by Senior Cadet or Instructors.
