  • Energy becoming stagnant or blocked in areas of the body.
  • Excessive leakage or loss of energy.
  • Unhealthy energy entering the body.
  • Derangement or psychosis.

A series of physiological and psychological effects occur in the course of Qigong training, but inappropriate training can lead to physical and mental disturbances.

What is a Qi deviation?

‘qigong deviation/error’ or Chinese: 气功出偏), is a Chinese-culture concept traditionally used to indicate that something has gone wrong in spiritual or martial arts training. The concept was highlighted in the social and political context of mass popularization of qigong in China.

Is Qigong enough exercise?

Regular exercise — such as 30 minutes of walking a day — is also an effective way to improve your health, reduce stress and help you sleep better. If you exercise regularly or plan to start, qigong is a great addition to your routine. Working it in could be the healthy one-two punch you need during stressful times.

Ok, so we are finally going to examine some of the more common dangers that can come from qigong practice. These dangers fall into two basic categories: physical injury and qi deviation. What a physical injury is should be self explanatory, but you may not be so familiar with the term ‘qi deviation’

Is qigong a form of meditation?

The qigong belief seems to be that chi is found in everything and can be controlled, lost and gained through various means. What is Qi Gong and how does it work?

Qi Gong can be described as a Body-Mind-Spirit practice based on movement, intention, and breathing. It is a practice of self-cultivation to bring about a more harmonized internal state, leading to feelings of peace, love, happiness, and bliss. It can be used to improve physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional health.

Can qigong bring you into contact with spirits?

My initial, non-researched answer is that Qigong promotes itself as an art form/meditation that can in some cases bring one into contact with the spirit realm. It’s main design seems to be to develop discipline as well as teach the practitioner how to control Chi for various uses.
