What is offshore duty?

Offshore work typically involves working on oil rigs in the sea. Offshore work can be broadly categorised into four areas: exploration, construction, operations and management. Offshore oil workers can perform a range of duties including drilling, surveying, diving and carrying out health and safety checks.

But there is a cutoff for the interviews i.e. minimum marks that one needs to get in the interview to qualify for final selection or get empanelled.

How many offshore team members should you have onshore?

First, when the nature of your work with your offshore team member is irregular, or undefined, or can span a variety of different tasks, I absolutely recommend buddying up your offshore team member with ONE person onshore. This is basically the same you would do if the person were sitting with you in the same physical office.

Are offshore wind turbines more efficient than onshore?

Offshore wind turbines have proven to be more efficient as compared to the onshore turbines. This is because the speed of these winds is high, and they are consistent in terms of direction. For this reason, you will require fewer turbines to produce the same capacity of energy than through onshore turbines.

For 14 days on off pattern (for both onshore & offshore) , ONGC take care of yourself and provide good quality of food, For all office posting- 5 days/week with 8 hr/day (Saturday Sunday off). Offshore- 14 days on off with 12hr/day.
