How long does a Cheque book take to come?

Your chequebook should arrive to the address your account is registered to within 7-10 working days.

What if Cheque book is not delivered?

A banking ombudsman official suggests that if the bank does not reply to a cheque book delivery complaint within a month or its response is not satisfactory, a consumer can approach the ombudsman claiming deficiency in the operation of a banking account.

Do cheque books expire?

Cheque books themselves don’t expire but – once the cheque is written, and issued for payment, the payee has six months from the date of the cheque to present it for payment (or pay it into a bank account).

How many Cheques are in a Cheque book?

A quick look at the charges being levied by banks shows that generally they provide 20–50 cheque leaves to savings bank customers for free, either on a quarterly or annual basis. Few banks do not provide any free cheque books, while a few others provide free-of-cost cheques every quarter.

Which bank gives instant Cheque book?

Some banks, such as SBI, give the account number and the debit card in the initial 30 minutes, while others, such as HDFC Bank, also give the cheque book, the debit card and the passwords for the debit card and Net banking.

Can I use checkbook with old address?

Yes, using a check with an old address is fine in most cases just as long as the account number and routing number on the check are still accurate. The receiving bank needs that information to be able to withdraw the funds from your checking account to issue the money to the payee.

Dear Customer, We hereby inform you that w.e.f. Jun 1, 2011 , standard Current Account customers placing a request for a cheque book will receive only 25 cheque leaves per cheque book.

Is Cheque book free SBI?

As per the SBI website, after the first free 10 cheque leaves per financial year, it will cost the savings account customer Rs 40 plus GST for a 10 leaf cheque book, and Rs 75 plus GST for a 25 leaf cheque book. In comparison, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Punjab National Bank give 20 to 25 cheques free per financial year.

How can I get HDFC cheque book online?

Just follow the steps below.

  1. Login to the HDFC net banking app.
  2. Once logged in, tap on the “Accounts” tab.
  3. Now, click on the “Request ChequeBook” option under the Request tab.
  4. Next screen, tap on the “Submit” tab to submit your order.
  5. Done!
  6. The new check book will be delivered to your address registered with the bank.
