Working in city jobs can be great and there is a lot of opportunity to advance. Paid vacations, sick time, automatic pay raises for five years. It’s all good stuff…

Are state jobs worth it?

It can be worth it. There is a little more stability with a public sector job. The money may not be as lucrative, but if (and when) a recession hits, government is less likely to lay off workers. The government still needs to function.

Is it hard to get a job with the city?
