Kong, fans expect to see a lot of monster fights between the two titular titans. But within those fights in the latest Warner Bros. Legendary MonsterVerse film, director Adam Wingard also gives King Kong a new weapon to put him at a more even level with Godzilla (a creature with nuclear fire breath): an axe.

How did KONG get the axe in Godzilla vs Kong?

Kong. While exploring the Hollow Earth, Kong found the axe embedded in the skull of an unidentified Hollow Earth Titan inside his ancestors’ stronghold. Kong would proceed to use the axe in his second battle against Godzilla to great effectiveness.

Does Kong wield an axe?

To even the odds a bit, Kong wields a giant battle ax that is capable of absorbing Godzilla’s atomic breath. In an interview with Collider, the film’s screenwriter Max Borenstein explained how the massive weapon came to be.

In the end, after MechaGodzilla was killed, you saw Kong pick up the axe again, but he looked scared, he looked tired as well. Godzilla of course, stood there, exhausted but not enough to be showing it. Kong KNEW he could never win, so he dropped the axe.

Where did King Kongs axe come from?

The axe is an object that actually unites the two titular monsters. It’s an artifact from Kong’s buried past, fashioned from the body of Godzilla. In that way, the axe becomes a symbol of their alliance to take down Mechagodzilla.

Does King Kong bow to Godzilla?

Kong didnt bow, but he deffinitly submited. Godzilla accepted that, and left, knowing he was still top dawg.

Who created Kongs AXE?

It’s already been made clear that at least one Titan, Godzilla, contributed to the construction of Kong’s axe. Certain shots in the trailer and action figures associated with the film have erased any lingering doubt about the origin of the weapon; somehow, one of Godzilla’s dorsal fins was used as the axe blade.
