Closing your AWS account doesn’t affect payment methods that you use on Amazon.com or other Amazon websites. During the post-closure period, billing for On-Demand charges stops. However, you’re billed for any usage that has accrued up until the time you closed your account. You’ll be charged for that usage at the beginning of the next month.
How do I reactivate my AWS account after I’ve paid?
If you paid your past due charges in full with a different payment method, then contact AWS Support to reactivate your account. Sometimes account services can take up to 24 hours to reactivate an account. If you have paid your past due charges in full, and your account isn’t reactivated within 24 hours, then contact AWS Support.
How do I know if my AWS account has been suspended?
If your account has no past due charges, check the email address associated with the AWS account. AWS sends a notification and instructions to the registered email address on the account if your account is suspended for another reason. If you’re not sure why your account was suspended, then contact AWS Support for help.
Can I access the AWS Management Console in a closed account?
Your access to the AWS Management Console for the closed AWS account is restricted. During the post-closure period, you can still sign in to your AWS account to view your past billing information and access AWS Support. You can’t access any other AWS services or start any new AWS services in the closed account.
