What is RA and TA in MTech?

NO difference in the RA and TA category. Apart from the above, there is no difference between TA and RA. Even RAs have one advantage of getting exposed to the project more as they will be dedicating more time for the project.

Is IIT MTech stipend stopped?

As of now, admission and tuition fees for an MTech course at IITs range between Rs 5,000 to over Rs 10,000 per semester. The IITs will also stop the monthly stipend of Rs 12,400 given to MTech scholars who join the system on the basis of their graduate aptitude test in engineering (GATE) score.

The best, after 1 month in IIT-B everyone wishes they were a RA instead of TA. If time isn’t a constraint M.tech RA has many advantages and I can go out on a limb and say that 95\% of the TA’s will recommend RA over TA.

How many years does it take to complete RA category MTech?

RA category M.tech takes 3 years to complete. Number of credits to be completed is almost same as of TA category. You can distribute your course work load in ample of time given (3 years instead of 2). Not every department gives you this category to pursue your M.tech. Here at IITB only CSE, EE and ME are the departments which have RA seats.
