Which BBs should I use?
0.25g BBs, are the most commonly used and also the most affordable. It is always important to check optimal weight of BB depending on the rᎥfle and its specific requirements before buying any pellets. Don’t waste your time trying to use 0.20g BBs in your 500 FPS sniper!
What is the difference between Airsoft pellets and BBs?
BB guns fire rounds at faster velocities (measured in feet per second, or FPS) than airsoft guns. Generally, airsoft guns fire rounds at less than 500 FPS, while BB Guns can fire up to 550 FPS. Steel or lead BBs penetrate much better, so they cannot be safely used to shoot at others.
Do pellets do more damage than BBs?
Safety. Both of these types of guns can cause serious injury, especially if used at close range. Pellet guns possess the most potential for danger, however. Pellets’ greater size and awkward shape can cause more damage than BBs.
Can you fire airsoft BBs in a 12mm or 20mm gun?
Short answer: yes you can. Longer answer: The .12 or .20 when describing airsoft BBs refers only to the mass of the BB. All airsoft BBs are either 6mm or 8mm in diameter, with 6mm being vastly more common. As long as your BBs are the correct diameter for your airsoft gun, they will fire just fine.
What is the difference between Airsoft BB and airsoft gun barrel size?
The airsoft BB size allows it to fit perfectly into airsoft gun barrels. This is important for the accuracy of the airsoft gun and the flight stability of the airsoft BB. The inner airsoft gun barrel diameter is just slightly bigger than the BB size.
What are airsoft BBs and how do they work?
Airsoft BBs are the little plastic balls or pellets fired out of airsoft guns. They are the airsoft gun’s ammunition. They come in 6mm or 8mm sizes (with 6mm being the standard and most widely used size), and the BBs weigh between 0.12g to 0.20g to 0.46g with many other weights in-between.
How many joules does an airsoft gun shoot?
This means that if your airsoft gun is shooting 380 FPS with a.20g BB and you switch to a.25g BB your gun will be shooting 340 FPS. There’s a big difference in FPS but the kinetic energy it carries on flight will be the same, 1.34 Joules, regardless of what BB weight you use.
