Can you use BCC to send mass email?
When sending bulk emails, you don’t want everyone in the list to see who you are sending them to. You can use the Send as Mass Mail feature or use the BCC undisclosed recipients.
Is BCC secure?
The BCC addresses, while not visible to the individual recipients, are visible to people eavesdropping on the message during transmission. Therefore, BCC is not secure enough to hide the recipient information in a way that is sufficient for HIPAA compliance.
What is the point of BCC?
‘Blind carbon copy’ is a way of sending emails to multiple people without them knowing who else is receiving the email. Any emails in the BCC field will be invisible to everyone else in the To and CC fields. BCC should only be used when it isn’t a personal email and you want to keep the receipts email private.
Does a BCC get replies?
Addresses that have been placed in the BCC field are not forwarded. If you have placed a large list of recipients in the To or CC field, all of them will receive the reply. By placing recipients in the BCC field, you can help protect them against receiving unnecessary replies from anyone using the Reply All feature.
What happens when you move to BCC?
So to move someone to BCC in an email chain is to ensure that they won’t be part of the conversation going forward. So one of the recipients of his initial email, thoughtfully recognizing this fact, removes him from the conversation. “Thanks, Paul (moving you to BCC),” that person might say.
How do you properly BCC?
Create a new email message or reply to or forward an existing message. If the message you’re composing opens in a new window, select Options > Bcc. If the message you’re composing opens in the Reading Pane, select Bcc from the ribbon. In the Bcc box, add recipients, compose the message, and choose Send when done.
Why should you BCC yourself?
This is easy… simply BCC yourself on emails that you are sending out and you want/need to follow up on. After the email is sent, you will also receive a copy in your Inbox. Because you have BCC’ed yourself, the other recipients will not know that you were also a recipient.
Is BCC really private?
Cc means carbon copy and Bcc means blind carbon copy. For emailing, you use Cc when you want to copy others publicly, and Bcc when you want to do it privately. Any recipients on the Bcc line of an email are not visible to others on the email.
