Can we walk away from salvation?
Salvation is NOT given out until Jesus returns! Until then, the only thing that can be gained or lost is assurance of an eventually coming salvation! When Salvation actually comes, the only way you could remove your salvation is to ask Jesus to open the gate of the Kingdom and let you out!
Can you lose your salvation if you stop believing in God?
Believers get saved. If someone stops believing then that person is no longer a believer then doesn’t get saved. Faith saves only if it perseveres. “But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”

1) Once you are a believer in Christ, your salvation is forever secure in him. 2) Once you are a believer in Christ, you can later reject his salvation. To us these may appear to be mutually exclusive. Either #1 is true or #2 is true, but they can’t both be true.
