How do you get into RASP without Option 40?
If you do not receive an Option 40 contract, you can either wait for new contracts to become available or attempt to volunteer for Ranger service during your Basic Combat Training (BCT), One Station Unit Training (OSUT), Advance Individual Training (AIT), or while attending Airborne School.
Can you go to RASP after AIT?
After completing Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT), Soldiers interested in becoming a part of the 75th Ranger Regiment will report to the Ranger Assessment and Selection facility, where they will be screened and prepared for entry into RASP.

How difficult is RASP?
Lifes hard. If you’re going into this asking how hard it is you will surely fail. RASP is designed to break you down to the lowest level of life and see how long it takes for you to quit on yourself, your unit, and your country. There are no quitters who are honored enough to wear the Scroll.
Is RASP actually hard?
Yes, it is. It will leave you exhausted and test you physically and mentally. What makes it easier is if you go into it with the right mind set and if you are physically in shape. Coming right out of Basic, advanced training and Airborne school you should be physically up to the challenge.

What happens if I fail Airborne School or RASP?
If you are unable to complete training or fail Airborne School or RASP, then you will still report to your selected installation. You will be able to re apply for the Ranger Regiment in six months. My Chain of Command will not sign the 4187 or support my move to the Ranger Regiment.
How long does it take to get RASP 2 orders?
If you are enlisted, once your packet is submitted, expect 6-8 weeks before receiving orders. Please allow that amount of time before you contact us with issues. If you are an officer, please contact the Regimental Assistant S1 at 706-545-0575 to determine when you are slotted to attend RASP 2.
Are there any option 40 contracts available for the Army Rangers?
To qualify for the Army Rangers a General Technical (GT) score of 105 is required. MY RECRUITER TOLD ME THERE ARE NO OPTION 40 CONTRACTS AVAILABLE. WHAT SHOULD I DO? Currently, there are 150 Option 40 contracts available each month for Infantrymen. Other MOS generally provide 10 contracts or fewer.
