Is Revit a 3D Modelling software or BIM?

Revit is one of the BIM software to create BIM based model. It combines the architectural design, structural engineering design and MEP models for coordination. Also, it helps in making a data-rich model based on the inputs.

What are the uses of Revit?

Revit is used to coordinate all data inputs (including CAD) and produce federated project deliverables. Both programs are often used within the same firm, with BIM and CAD specialists working on different elements of a project.

How do BIM work?

Description. The BIM 360 Design product provides access to the Design Collaboration and Document Management modules within the BIM 360 platform. In addition, access (entitlements) are provided for Revit Cloud Worksharing and Collaboration for Civil 3D software.

BIM 360 Design can be used with Revit 2018.3 and later versions. With Revit 2015 to Revit 2018.2, you can continue to use cloud worksharing with BIM 360 Team (as you have been doing in Collaboration for Revit).
