Are BJTs cheaper than MOSFETs?

They are not as common as standard MOSFET that requires at least 10V or more Vgs (gate-source voltage) to fully turn on. On the other hand, BJTs that can be driven by Arduino (~5V DC) are easier to find, and generally cheaper.

Why is MOSFET a better choice for an IC fabrication rather than a BJT?

mosfet is much faster than bjt because in a mosfet, only majority carriers are the current. the device switches much faster than bjt and is therefore used for switching smps power. mosfet does not suffer huge variations of point q, it’s the opposite we see in bjt.

What are the differences between BJT and MOSFET?

Why BJT has higher gain than MOSFET?

Bjt utilizes linear region of operation for amplification and MOSFET utilizes saturation region where no change in current takes place on changing voltage so gain is less in saturation mode and bjt has high gain in linear region so bjt is better amplifier.

Why is it better to use a MOSFET instead of a BJT to turn on a DC motor on and off?

MOSFETs are better for high-power applications because they can switch faster than BJTs, enabling them to use smaller inductors in switch-mode supplies, which increases efficiency.

Why BJT is faster than MOSFET?

Parasitic capacitance in BJT is less when compared to MOSFET which makes it faster whereas MOSFET being a majority carrier device switches faster than BJT.

Why BJT gain is more?

BJT has more gain than MOS because it is current operated device, where output is controlled by input current… where as MOS is voltage operated device…

Why use a BJT over a MOSFET?

The advantages of BJT over MOSFET include the following. BJTs have higher fidelity & better gain in the linear areas as evaluated with the MOSFETs. As compared with MOSFETS, BJTS are very faster because of the low capacitance on the control pin. But MOSFET is more tolerant to heat & can simulate a good resistor.
