What happens to the Higgs field in a black hole?

In theory, the Higgs field could break down inside a black hole due to the fact that inside the natural laws of physics break down. In the current laws of cosmology, the laws of physics do not apply when it comes to a black hole so to say that the Higgs Field would still function normally is false.

Can quantum particles escape a black hole?

However, there is one way to escape a black hole — but only if you’re a subatomic particle. Moving at close to the speed of light, these particles ricochet off the event horizon and get hurled outward along the black hole’s axis of rotation.

What happens to things that go inside a black hole?

When matter falls into or comes closer than the event horizon of a black hole, it becomes isolated from the rest of space-time. It can never leave that region. Once inside the black hole’s event horizon, matter will be torn apart into its smallest subatomic components and eventually be squeezed into the singularity.

What happens to matter when it goes into a black hole?

Because a black hole has only a few internal parameters, most of the information about the matter that went into forming the black hole is lost. Regardless of the type of matter which goes into a black hole, it appears that only information concerning the total mass, charge, and angular momentum are conserved.

What is the shape of a black hole’s event horizon?

The shape of the event horizon of a black hole is always approximately spherical. For non-rotating (static) black holes the geometry of the event horizon is precisely spherical, while for rotating black holes the event horizon is oblate.

Do black holes have mass but no angular momentum?

The simplest static black holes have mass but neither electric charge nor angular momentum. These black holes are often referred to as Schwarzschild black holes after Karl Schwarzschild who discovered this solution in 1916. According to Birkhoff’s theorem, it is the only vacuum solution that is spherically symmetric.

How long does it take for a black hole to evaporate?

If black holes evaporate via Hawking radiation, a solar mass black hole will evaporate (beginning once the temperature of the cosmic microwave background drops below that of the black hole) over a period of 10 64 years.
