Can you reach N2 in a year?

Yeah, N2 in a year is definitely possible, you’ll probably need to study/read/listen everyday for 2-3 hours and not be lazy. Most people don’t achieve such goal, but then again most people don’t have time/don’t study seriously. I met many serious english speakers who passed N2 after ~9 months starting from zero.

How long does it take to pass the JLPT N2?
