What can I send to Navy boot camp?

A. Because space is limited in the barracks, recruits may receive letters and small photographs only. Please do not send your recruit packages of civilian clothing, toiletries, food items, etc. as they will not be permitted to keep them.

What happens first week of Navy boot camp?

You’ll receive complete dental and medical exams, and if you need a haircut, you’ll get one. The first week also will be filled with conditioning, swimming, marching, drilling and, most importantly, attending Navy classes. Everything you do from this point on is designed to prepare you for what lies ahead.

Recruit Training or “boot camp” is approximately eight weeks long. The main goal of this week is to develop the teamwork and work ethic required to be successful in the next phase of training. It begins with an initial swim assessment, a fitness baseline test and also learning the Navy’s core values and ranking system.
