Is it easier to get into an Ivy League as an international student?

Not only is the application process generally more confusing for international students, but it is more difficult for international students to be accepted to the Ivy Leagues. In the Ivy League, no school has an overall acceptance rate of over 10\%. In fact, most Ivy Legaue schools average a 7\% acceptance rate.

How do international students get into Ivy?

Application requirements for Ivy League schools

  1. the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
  2. transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate academic institutions you have attended (GPA included)
  3. proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE)
  4. Standardised test scores (GMAT, GRE, LSAT)
  5. 3 Letters of recommendation.

    Standardized Tests (GRE/GMAT/SAT and IELTS/TOEFL). A high score in the standard tests is a must for international students. SAT/ACT score: Minimum scorer of 1500+ in SAT with 750+ out of 800 in each subject. Harvard needs SAT1 and SAT2 scores. A 34+ score in the ACT is required.

    Not as of right, no, and not at all Ivy League schools. But at HYP international students are eligible for financial aid on the same basis as American students. Ivy league or not, international students pay a hefty sum to study in the US. Financial aid is not granted to overseas students.

    How hard is it to get into an Ivy League school?

    Ivy League admissions statistics paint a very clear picture of how difficult it is to get accepted into a prestigious school. With an average acceptance rate of just above 9\%, the Ivy Leagues are among the most selective schools in the World. If those groups sound exclusive, it’s because they are.

    Do you need to be in the top 1\% to get into Ivys?

    You don’t need to score in the top 1\%. However, the lower your test scores drop, the more you jeopardise your chances of getting in. On the other hand, many Ivys consider the SAT II a much better indicator of future academic success, even if your ACT/SAT scores are relatively low.

    Why can’t you get into an Ivy without perfect SAT/ACT scores?

    Because apparently without perfect SAT/ACT scores you can’t get into an Ivy. Or so you thought. Test scores are just one of a multitude of factors that the Ivy Leagues take into account when assessing your application. In fact, Ivy League schools are emphasising all areas of your application, rather than just perfect test scores.
