Are security guards allowed to check your bags?

Security guards are not allowed to search you or your possessions unless they have your consent. Although, this does not apply if you are not present or unconscious. This includes the ability to search your bag or your car.

Can bouncers search your bag?

In fact the law does allow bouncers (e.g. security staff on the door) to search entrants. They can search people to see if they have drugs or are carrying offensive weapons (e.g. knives, guns).

Can a security guard touch you?
