Does the CPU cooler have to be compatible with the motherboard?

Currently, a lot of CPU coolers are compatible with most of the popular socket types although there are some only support one socket type. …if you have a motherboard like this, which is relatively un-cluttered around the CPU area, you can probably fit just about any compatible CPU cooler on there without a problem.

Should I install motherboard or AIO first?

From experience it would be easier to mount your AIO cooler before mounting your mobo in your case. Just make sure you mount your radiator and fans to your case before doing anything. You don’t want to try to mount them to your case while the cooler is attached to your mobo.

In general, you should be able to upgrade your CPU while leaving the motherboard in place. This all depends on how tight the case is, and what other devices are in place, such as the storage drives, and the PSU. Also, make sure your motherboard can handle the proposed processor and supports it.

Where do I connect my AIO_pump?

Most AIOs are actually recommended to be connected to the motherboard’s CPU_Fan. And motherboards also often require something connected or it will tell you there isn’t a cpu fan connected and refuse to boot. There is no “AIO_PUMP” connector on (majority at least) motherboards. The connector is an PUMP_FAN.
