Are coding jobs going away?

That’s probably true. However, most of the programming jobs that exist today, done by mediocre developers working on mundane programming tasks, will disappear. The demand for online programming courses and coding bootcamps will drop like a rock.

Why do projects outsource work?

Outsourcing improves the focus on the core business aspects and allows the management to allocate staff energies strategically by delegating other time-consuming processes to outside agencies. Outsourcing will rectify both the inefficiency and unhappiness of employees that enhance the business performance.

What are the negative effects of outsourcing jobs?

The main negative effect of outsourcing is it increases U.S. unemployment. Outsourced jobs are often more than the number of unemployed Americans. If all those jobs returned, it would be enough to hire millions who are working part-time but would prefer full-time positions. 1 That assumes the jobs could, in fact, return to the United States.

Will outsourced jobs return to the United States?

The 14.3 million outsourced jobs are more than double the 5.9 million unemployed Americans. If all those jobs returned, it would be enough to also hire the 4.3 million who are working part-time but would prefer full-time positions. That assumes the jobs could, in fact, return to the United States.

Is outsourcing the biggest threat to unemployment in America?

Although U.S. outsourcing has risen, foreign companies have been outsourcing jobs to the U.S., too—it works both ways. Outsourcing may not be the biggest threat to unemployment though. Technological growth in automated intelligence could very well replace many human jobs, enormously impacting the U.S. job market in the eminently near future.

What does outsourced work mean for employees?

The outside contractor could be overseas, or it could be someone who lives just down the street. Outsourced work could include everything from janitorial duties to IT help to customer service. In some cases, employees may not lose their jobs.
