Are strap locks necessary?

Strap locks prevent your strap from slipping off the strap buttons, protecting you from a potentially damaging accident. We spend anywhere between a couple hundred to a few thousand on a single guitar, and most of us have (a lot) more than just one.

Are guitar strap locks worth it?

YES it is worth it, get good metal ones. Please listen haha, last year I was playing a show, and my strap peaced out. My BRAND NEW Godin LG (with EMGS, 900 bucks) fell and the head snapped right off the neck.

Where does a guitar strap attach?

Each strap consists of a closed loop, worn around the neck, or over one shoulder and under the opposite arm (usually the right arm for a right-handed player). At the end of the loop is a braided lace with a plastic hook. Lead the lace behind and under the guitar at its waist, and back up in front to the sound-hole.

What do strap locks do?
