Are the Sith gone forever?

The Sith are not permanently gone per se. They were probably always going to come back. From an out-of-universe perspective, Sith are part of the setting’s identity. If they’re gone for good, unless maybe they’re replaced by something very similar, it becomes a bit less “Star Wars” if you will.
