Are you allowed to watch TV in prison?

Yes. Inmates can watch TV in prison, but how they watch TV, what they watch, and how much they watch is determined by what facility they are in. Inmates who are incarcerated in most federal facilities are not allowed to buy personal TV’s for their cell, but they do have TVs in day rooms and recreation areas.

Can you watch TV in prison? For most inmates, TV is a must. The majority of the inmates where I was incarcerated had their own TVs in their bunks, but not every facility is like that. However, no matter where you are locked up, there is likely a can’t miss TV show that everyone gathers around to watch.
