Can a BDS open clinic?

Yes, BDS is sufficient if you want to run a dental clinic. Many of the well practising dentists had studied till BDS and set up their own clinic, but now a days there is saturation in the field. With saturation comes the demand for additional qualification.

Do BDS students get free time?

My answer a definite no, a real big no. Now let’s explain why such a big bold no. BDS course is a mix of practicals and theory. The practicals are not only patient based but have a lab component and mind it before you enter clinics you have a horrendous pre clinical work and viva.

Is dental school all year round?

Dental school takes four years to complete. For example, in some programs, students have summers off while other schools hold year-round classes. But dental programs also have several things in common. Students will likely take classes in science, such as biochemistry and anatomy along with many dental classes.

Is 2nd year BDS tough?

Its perhaps one of the most toughest courses. BDS lasts for around 4 years plus one year of internship. The journey from BDS to MDS is not only tough but costly also. But there is much more to dentistry also.

What to do after a BDS degree?

It is recommended that after your BDS join any private clinic and make at least a year’s experience in RCT, Crown-cutting, Impactions, etc. so that you can learn to manage patients, finance, expenses, and treatments. Pursuing your profession overseas is a glorious career opportunity.

What is the eligibility criteria for admission to a BDS course?

The basic eligibility criteria for admissions to BDS courses have been mentioned as follows: The aspiring candidate must have passed the 10+2 qualifying exam or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 50\% aggregate from a recognised institute. They must have studied the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology compulsorily in their 10+2.
